Tiana Nāpua Lewis
VOLUNTEER & OUTREACH COORDINATOR
Born & raised in south Maui, Tiana Nāpua has always had a passion for all things ʻāina; the outdoors, camping, fishing & crafting with things found in nature are some of her favorites. As a child, she spent a lot of time with her hānai ʻohana in the country where they would work in the māla, go to the beach to pick shells for jewelry, play in the ponds clearing the water intake or catch ʻopae, and harvest fruit for jams and bread to sell at her aunties fruit stand.
In high school, she attended the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism that taught her life and career skills as she started her first job as a lei greeter and ambassador of aloha. Tiana Nāpua attended The University of Maui College where she continued her education in the tourism industry & Hawaiian studies. She was a part of various Hawaiian cohorts and enjoyed community service and volunteer efforts in conservation all around Maui.
In recent years, she has rebuilt her walk of faith that led her to join the Kipuka Olowalu team as our volunteer coordinator & reignite her passion for conservation. One of her main goals is to teach her ‘ohana, and those in the community how to be good stewards of all things ʻāina. “The seeds sown in good ground will reap a great harvest; From small seeds, grow mighty trees when we take time to mālama them.” We each have kuleana to take the seeds of knowledge that we carry and teach the next generation. Tiana Nāpua has big hopes that what we share today will help our children and community grow into strong leaders for the future of Maui and leave an ongoing legacy of stewardship for generations to come.
